NDP leader Ryan Meili is asking for changes to the Saskatchewan legislative assembly act.
Meili is upset two SaskParty MLA’s (Warren Steinley and Corey Tochor) have won the federal Conservative nomination for two ridings in Saskatchewan, but are still on the provincial payroll.
He says changes should be made to the legislative assembly act.
Premier Scott Moe says MLA’s can serve in the assembly and represent their constituents while seeking federal office.
He pointed to former NDP MLA John Solomon, who was an MLA while seeking a federal seat in 1993.
