Banks and Credit Unions want your business! Do they deserve it?!
I’ve got an account in Alberta, 7 years into being back in Saskatchewan – great way to save money! Part of the account is a credit card. The card is managed by the credit union and has a rate of 11.99 percent. I keep the credit card balance at zero. Except right now! Normally, I can go on line and pay my bill. Love banking on line! Doing this has quickly become a headache. The new MasterCard issued does not match any of the prefixes that exist in my Saskatchewan credit union payee list.
Neither side of the border seem to know what the problem is.
Over the past few weeks I’ve been back and forth with the two financial institutions. Of course the Saskatchewan side says, “we have a solution, get our credit card!” Well, can you beat 11.99 percent with a 30 dollar yearly service charge – right now, the answer is no.
There’s always something – isn’t there. Looks like I will be paying a bill the old fashion with a cheque and a stamp AND not using the card til its all sorted! Oh wait, I just bought something else on line.
Now the purchasing on line, just brought up another issue with Canada Post – go back to a blog of a couple days ago! Which to add to that story; I received the item but the box was ripped up. It looks as though the product is okay. Another delivery came to my place – did I mention – they came to my door at 10:30 am. A retired person might be home – generally a working person is not! Good Grief.
