While some phones got it, others didn’t.
The alert ready system sent out an alert just after 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon to cell phones, TV’s and radio stations, however many phones did not receive the alert.
Residents of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta were scheduled to get a test alert on their wireless devices at 1:55 PM local time.
The system is designed to distribute warnings of imminent safety threats, such as tornadoes or floods, but a space in the coding prevented the alert from being sent to Quebec wireless devices in the first test on Monday morning.
Only some devices in Ontario received the alert in a second test on Monday afternoon.
