SaskTel customers will be burning up the lines trying to say “Happy Mother’s Day” to their moms.
And according to corporation spokesperson Greg Jacobs, that’s not unusual.
He said this Sunday, SaskTel expects to see over 10 million texts sent today, and that’s not all.
“We’re expecting about 105,000 gigabytes of data to be used on our network in one day,” he said. “To put that into perspective, that would be as if you were streaming 35,000 hours of high definition video.”
Jacobs also said they’re also expecting a high volume of calls to pass through the network.
He recommends if you want to make sure your connection is of optimum quality, there are some things to consider.
“Make sure you take any time zone differences into consideration when calling her,” he said. “Also, if you have an opportunity to avoid the peak time zone network, that would help you get through.”
