The opposition is critical of the SaskParty governments plan to battle climate change.
NDP Environment critic David Forbes says there has been little progress on developing renewable power from wind and solar energy.
He adds greenhouse gas emissions will rise from now til 2020 before showing any decline.
Environment minister Dustin Duncan says the province’s plan of electrical generation will reduce greenhouse gases by 40 percent by 2030.
As well, he says the province will be rolling out performance standards on a sector by sector basis over the coming months.
Duncan outlined a plan Wednesday to cut greenhouse gases by 188 million tons in hopes Ottawa will provide 62 million dollars in federal funding to battle climate change.
The NDP fears the funds will be withheld because of a SaskParty fight over a carbon tax with Ottawa.
