Hockey fans from across the country have come to Regina to watch Junior Hockey’s best.
While some fans arrived at the Queen City simply for the hockey, others are supporting the teams they’ve cheered on for years.
Andrew Oliver came from Belleville to watch the Hamilton Bulldogs. He talks about how his Memorial cup trip came to light.
“We actually planned on going to the Memorial Cup since last fall, and as the Bulldogs were building the team and going on the big run and doing better in the playoffs, we’re seeing that this is becoming more of a reality that we might actually see our own team.”
The Bulldogs finished the round robin 2-1, and depending on Wednesday night’s game between the Regina Pats and Swift Current Broncos, could finish as the top seed in the tournament.
Meanwhile, Acadie-Bathurst Titan fan Michel Levesque says his Regina Memorial Cup experience has been exceptional.
“We’ve been greeted with great hospitality from everybody here, great Hockey fans and we’re really pleased to be here.”
While the Titan lost Tuesday night to Oliver’s Bulldogs, Levesque still believes his team will win the Memorial Cup this year.
