Scotiabank has let it be known that they are coming back to Saskatchewan for a 3rd time for “Hockey Day in Canada” festivities.
The four-day hockey festival will be highlighted by a 12-and-a-half hour broadcast on Sportsnet Saturday, February 9 featuring Ron McLean and Don Cherry who will spend their day in Swift Current with a “Hockey Night in Canada” tripleheader occurring.
Plans for the four-days include honouring Swift Current’s 30 year anniversary of the Broncos Memorial Cup win, an alumni game featuring former Swift Current Bronco Bryan Trottier and a game between the current day Broncos and the Saskatoon Blades.
More details about the celebration will be announced as the date gets closer.
Hockey Day in Canada was hosted in Shaunavon in 2004 and Lloydminster in 2014.
