I found myself thinking about this last night around, ohhh, midnight or so last night. I was wondering who else would be up at that time working on a few things for the next day and I quickly came to the realization that I think I’ve become a night owl! I never used to be a night owl mostly because I had been a morning show host for many years and was used to going to bed early and getting up early. Even as a kid growing up on the farm late nights (unless it was harvest and the weather was good) was not really a thing for me.
According to some experts (of which I am not in any way, shape, or form) say true night owls aren’t just those who stay up late watching TV or Netflix, they’re up doing their best work at that time. Some may be preparing for a radio show the next day, some are doing book keeping, others are doing shift work, and some are simply watching movies or TV programs.
Asking co-workers around the office today I learned it’s varied. Some proudly claim they are night owls, others have said they love getting up early to get a jump on the day, and one person said both! They go to bed late and get up early, which is something that’s not probably recommended! I also noticed the night owl vs early bird debate can be an age thing too. Whether this is a fact or not is a debate all to its own, but in my miniature poll around the office I noticed those who are older are more inclined to head to bed early than those who are younger.
So the question remains, are you an early bird or a night owl?
