Craven is a lot like Christmas!….Just as soon as you plan it, go through all that trouble for 5 days it’s over.
A lot of work and organization goes into a world class event like this. In fact, the planning has already started for next year.
I feel for the organizers this year with the wet weather and all. I know there was a lot of people upset with the way campers were held back from their sites until it dried up, but what else do you do??
It doesn’t matter if all the main streets were paved, you still have to find dry ground for the campers and trailers. So lets say you have wet grounds….you either let the campers in and they get stuck and really cause a log jam or you do what they did………wait for a while for things to dry off or find a different location to stage the event and the latter of the 2 just wont happen…..I think a big part of the problem was the lack of information being given to those in line…. a lot of our callers didn’t know the reasoning behind the delays.
