Riders extend QB Franklin

The Riders and QB James Franklin have agreed on a contract extension.

Franklin will remain with the team through the 2021 season.

The 29 year old joined the Riders as a free agent last February after his contract with the Argos expired. Part of the draw for him was Riders Offensive Coordinator Jason Maas. Franklin played two seasons under Maas in Edmonton.

In his two seasons with the Argos, Franklin threw for 2,856 yards, 11 TD and 15 INT.

He is one of five QBs on the Riders roster, along with 2019 West MOP Cody Fajardo, Isaac Harker, Justice Hansen and Mason Fine.
