Pats and Broncos rivalry resumes with a pair of matchups

 

Four crucial points are on the line this weekend as the Regina Pats and Swift Current Broncos meet in a home and home set.

Friday night, the two teams will face off before a sold out InnovationPlex in Swift Current.  Saturday night, the rematch will take place at the Brandt Centre.

The Pats are on a three game winning streak heading into tonight’s tilt with the Broncos. They have picked up wins against the Calgary Hitmen, Saskatoon Blades and Portland Winterhawks during that stretch.

Captain Connor Bedard has been on a roll since returning from the World Juniors, over the last three games he has scored nine goals and has extended his point streak to 30 games with the Pats this season.

Heading into tonight’s game, the Pats are 21-19-1-1 (44 points) and occupy the seventh spot in the Eastern Conference, they sit four points back of the Hitmen for the sixth position.

Swift Current will be looking to chase down Regina in the playoff race this weekend. The Broncos begin the weekend two points back of the Pats with a 20-17-0-2 record and have three game advantage over Regina.

On Wednesday night, the Broncos were defeated by the Medicine Hat Tigers 5-4 in a shootout loss and have only won one game in their last four.
