Sask Power Gets Rate Increase for April 1st

When your power bill rolls in at the end of April, you will need to dig a little deeper in your wallet to pay it.

The Saskatchewan Rate Review Panel has signed off on the 4 percent increase to go into effect April 1st.

Sask Power had applied for this increase last year, but the rate review panel wanted more information about why the increase is neccessary.

The panel now agrees with SaskPower’s figures, which project a loss of over 105 million dollars by the end of the fiscal year.

In 2020-2021 Sask Power had a profit of 160 million dollars.

The crown is expecting

The rate increase still needs to be approved by Premier Scot Moe and the provincial cabinet.
