Much needed rain spreads across southeast Saskatchewan

Some much needed rain fell on southeast Saskatchewan Wednesday, and more is expected in many areas on Thursday.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Justin Shaer, said total amounts in the Regina area were around 20 millimeters Wednesday.

“In Regina we got around 19 millimeters recorded at one station, and just south of town there’s one station that recorded 26 millimeters,” Shaer said.

Shaer added that the most rain fell in the Assiniboia area, where they measured between 30 to 48 millimeters.

“Between Assiniboia, Coronach and down to Rockglen there was a line of some thunderstorms that rolled through, they were the area that saw the highest amount.”

More rain is in the forecast for the queen city Thursday and Friday with sunshine returning over the weekend.
