Highway Hotline adds Track My Plow feature

Saskatchewan drivers now have access to a new feature on the Highway Hotline aimed at enhancing winter travel safety.

The Track My Plow feature enables drivers to monitor the movements of snowplows as they work on clearing snow and ice from Saskatchewan highways.

The Track My Plow feature is in its pilot phase on the Highway Hotline website and smartphone app. Users can track the path of snowplows and view their recent activities in winter road maintenance for up to two hours.

Highways Minister Lori Carr highlighted the significance of the Highway Hotline.

“For more than 50 years, Saskatchewan’s Highway Hotline has been helping drivers make informed decisions about their safety,” Carr said. “Track My Plow gives them yet another piece of information that will help them plan their travel and get to what they love.”

The Ministry of Highways intends to expand the availability of this feature to most snowplows. Continuous monitoring of the feature’s effectiveness and public feedback will guide future improvements.

The introduction of Track My Plow reflects ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and provide valuable resources for Saskatchewan drivers navigating winter conditions.
