UPDATE: Highways Bad but Getting Better, After First Big Hit of Winter

Getting there is not half the fun today.

Environment Canada has ended the “Snowfall Warning” for Regina and other parts of southern Saskatchewan that was blanketed by snow, rain, ice, and strong wind gusts on Sunday.

As of right now: On the Highways

The Ring Road is only seeing winter driving conditions according to the Highway Hotline, Highway One west is not recommended for travel all the way through and passed Moose Jaw and Chaplin.

Highway 363 is also CLOSED heading southwest of Moose Jaw and Highway 301 heading northeast of Moose Jaw is also CLOSED.

The Highway Hotline is reporting that all highways east of Regina are seeing seasonal and winter driving conditions.

Before heading out today, make sure you check with the “Highway Hotline” for the latest road conditions.

In the city of Regina most major roads are in better shape this morning than they were just yesterday, but still pretty treacherous.

The roads in the city are slushy, icy, and slippery as every driver re-adjusts to winter driving.

So far in Regina, buses are running as normal.

Moose Jaw transit is not operating and won’t reopen until mid-day on Tuesday.

The key to getting around today is patience. Give yourself some extra time, to get to where you need to go.
