Buck Pierce is back on the sidelines with an injury. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers quarterback dislocated his elbow in a loss to Saskatchewan on Sunday. He's not sure how long he'll be out of the lineup. He missed four games earlier this season with a knee injury. The Riders visit Winnipeg Sunday on the Banjo Bowl.
The first North American athlete to test positive for human growth hormone is a Canadian. A first-year running back from the University of Waterloo has been banned for three years after a blood test showed evidence of H-G-H. Matt Socholotiuk also tested positive for testostorone.
Taylor Hall will be wearing number four in Edmonton this season. Former Oilers star Kevin Lowe is the only player to ever wear the number four jersey. But Lowe, now an executive with the team, has passed it on to his new star rookie, who wore the number with the O-H-L's Windsor Spitfires. |
