Search begins for 2021 Saskatchewanderer

It’s time to look for the next Saskatchewanderer.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2021 Saskatchewander – an enthusiastic individual who can showcase all the great things Saskatchewan has to offer.

Leah Mertz is the current Saskatchewanderer after she was named back in February 2020.

“Despite this year’s challenges, I’ve still been fortunate to safely explore and see some incredible destinations in the province,” shared Mertz in a statement. “It truly is the job of a lifetime and I look forward to passing the torch in 2021!”

“Leah Mertz faced unprecedented challenges during her year as Saskatchewanderer,” said Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Laura Ross in a media release on Tuesday. “Through a creative, thoughtful approach to each situation, she faced the reality of the COVID-19 pandemic head on. She motivated people to make new discoveries in our province and to support our local industries and businesses while staying safe.”

Applications for the 2021 Saskatchewanderer will be accepted until 12:00 p.m. on December 10, 2020. Applicants are required to shoot, edit and submit their own original video explaining why they are the perfect fit for the job.
