The Regina Pats dominated the Spokane Chiefs on Saturday night and picked up a big 7-2 road victory.
In the first period the Pats scored shorthanded thanks to Austin Wagner to make it 1-0. Then on the powerplay Connor Hobbs made it 2-0 with his 12th. 17 seconds later Jared Freadrich scored his 2nd to make it 3-0 Regina. The Chiefs powerplay got on the board at 16:18 thanks to Hudson Elynuik and it was 3-1 but the Pats responded thanks to Adam Brooks 23rd of the year and it was 4-1, that was the score after 20 minutes.
In the second the Pats added to their lead when Sam Steel scored his 14th of the year at 4:54 and they took the 5-1 lead to the intermission.
In the final period the Pats got goals from Sam Steel and Austin Wagner and took the two points with a 7-2 victory.
The Pats continue their U.S. Division road trip in Everett on Tuesday against the Silvertips with a 9 o’clock puck drop Regina time on 620 CKRM.
