The City of Regina has decided to call off this year’s Snowbusters campaign because of the warm winter weather.
The initiative allowed residents to nominate people who voluntarily shoveled their neighbours driveways. The nominees had a chance to win a snow blower.
Mayor Michael Fougere says this year the contest just didn’t make sense.
“We have had a very good winter, we don’t have a lot of snow and no reason to proceed this year with the program. I guess winter is the real Snowbuster this year.”
The City will look at running the campaign next winter.
