Steve Laycock and his Saskatoon rink are headed to the Tim Hortons Brier for a third straight year.
Laycock won the Sask-Tel Tankard in Kindersley Sunday afternoon defeating Shawn Meachem 6-4 in the final
Laycock took control of the final early as he stole one in the third to take a 3-0 lead and put Meachem in catch-up mode for the rest of the game.
Meachem did make a game of it late as he took two in eight and stole one in nine, but Laycock put a draw into the four foot with his last rock in the 10th to secure the victory and stamp his spot at the Brier in Ottawa.
He will once again try to do what new Saskatchewan skip has done since Rick Folk in 1980, and that is win the title.
