Premier Brad Wall says he will try to focus on the economy during his visit to Vancouver next week.
Wall will join fellow premiers and the Prime Minister for the first ministers’ meeting on climate change.
He continues to oppose suggestions of a possible nation-wide carbon tax and says the idea needs to be properly evaluated before any kind of decision is made.
“Saskatchewan will be proposing that prior to any national, or pan-Canadian climate change initiative or especially a carbon tax, that there would be an economic impact assessment done of that first.”
Wall says Saskatchewan should be focusing on technological solutions to reduce emissions.
