Bus drivers in Saskatoon are back in uniform.
On Wednesday, the Amalgamated Transit Union recommended drivers switch back to wearing their Saskatoon Transit uniforms after donning street clothes for a week in protest of failing contract talks with the city.
Union president Jim Yakubowski said he felt transit workers accomplished their goal of bringing public awareness to their issues with the contract talks.
He said the city sent the union three letters regarding the drivers’ outfits during the week.
But he said those letters had no bearing on the union’s decision to move back to the uniforms.
Transit workers in Saskatoon have been without a contract for four years. The main points of contention between the two sides are pension and wages.
