Another possible case of the Zika virus is being investigated in Saskatchewan.
Saskatchewan’s Deputy Chief Medical Health Officer, Dr. Denise Werker says the person being investigated is a woman.
“This person had sexual contact with another person who was diagnosed with Zika virus after traveling to an affected country, and if confirmed this would be the first case of sexual transmission of Zika in Canada.”
Werker warns people traveling to affected countries to use protection when sexually active for at least six months upon return.
Pregnant women are advised to completely avoid travel to any affected country.
