Things are heating up in the Western Hockey League!
The 1st round of play-off action seems to be holding some surprises for highly ranked teams. Case-in-point: The Brandon Wheat Kings. The Wheaties finally found the net and have stopped the Edmonton Oil Kings, however the next 2 games take place in Edmonton.
Meanwhile at the Brandt Centre, over 12,000 fans have attended the first two home games of the Pats Hurricane series.
It is AWESOME to see the extra seating set up, the only open seats appear to be single spots. Young. Old. Fans from the city and from the country.
Now, we just need to convince persons it is good for the soul to cheer loudly, letting free for all to hear the cheer! #GOPATSGO.
620 CKRM is the Voice of the Regina Pats, and as such, we have the opportunity to come into the games. Sometimes you stay for the entire game, maybe a portion of the it OR perhaps you have to work!
These last two games, fans were in high spirits. Not deterred by the long lines for beer and pizza; nor a shot at the 50/50 (close to $30,000 last night!). And don’t even think about a quick in and out over at the mini-donut line!
I love observing the game night crowd. This young man was a great fan. He marched right over to the top of the stairs and got locked into the game! Dang, that popcorn looks goooood! He ate, he watched. He ate some more! And cheered. Then his dad showed up!
If you haven’t already, bring your kids to the games. Let them develop their dreams to be a Regina Pats’ superstar or at least a SUPER FAN!
And because I am only a fan, I can tell you the ON-ICE product is pretty damn fine too! I love this #WholeNewGame! The team is committed, fast and fun to watch!
