The City of Regina is reminding drivers heavy and long combination trucks are not permitted on Dewdney Avenue between Lewvan Drive and Courtney Street.
The Traffic Bylaw was amended in May 2015 to ensure Dewdney Avenue is not used as a thoroughfare across the city and truck traffic remains on streets better suited to be truck routes like Lewvan Drive and the Ring Road.
The restriction does not completely eliminate truck traffic in the area, but reduces it.
Trucks will still need to use this section of Dewdney Avenue for the purpose of pick-ups and deliveries.
The City’s means to address safety concerns along Dewdney Avenue while still supporting local commerce by allowing transport trucks to access local businesses in the area.
