Federal, provincial and territorial agriculture ministers are planning to hold their annual conference in July in Calgary.
This week, federal Agriculture Minister Lawrence MacAulay and his Alberta counterpart, Oneil Carlier, held a conference call to discuss issues of importance and preparations for the event.
MacAulay highlighted agriculture investments announced in the federal budget while the provincial ministers talked about trade and market access for Canadian agriculture and agri-food products.
MacAulay reconfirmed Canada’s commitment to swiftly ratify the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement and to consult Canadians on the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
