Police observed a motorcycle with two riders traveling westbound on Victoria Avenue at an extremely high rate of speed. Police began to pursue the motorcycle throughout the city’s east end, believing the driver had intentionally not pulled over.
After some pursuit, police were able to safely proceed northbound on Broad Street and officers noticed a cloud of dust in the intersection of east Broad Street Service road and South Railway Street. Officers found the motorcycle’s female passenger sitting in the middle of the intersection. Tire tracks indicated the motorcycle has lost control and slid out.
Police were able to catch up to the driver, by pushing the motorcycle, and then arrested the driver.
Both the driver and the passenger were attended to by EMS and transported to hospital with minor injuries.
