Unionized workers at one of Saskatchewan’s largest art galleries have voted in favour of a strike to back contract demands.
The staff — members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees — work at Regina’s MacKenzie Art Gallery.
The union says management wants to eliminate severance pay and issue layoff notices to two employees, and there’s a chance of even more layoffs.
The workers’ last contract ended March 31st, although negotiations on a new deal continue.
The gallery will only say it’s optimistic about reaching an agreement. (
