Whether it’s major construction or yardwork, before digging deep into the ground, get in touch with Sask 1st Call.
Executive Director of the Saskatchewan Common Ground Alliance, Daryl Posehn, says after figuring out where your project will be located, Sask 1st Call people can mark buried utilities.
Posehn says people digging should stay about a metre away from the markings.
In 2015, more than 140-thousand requests came in for line locates.
Posehn says the calls can be anything from a fence or gazebo to construction signs and major projects.
In Saskatchewan, April has been declared Safe Digging Month.
