Saskatchewan farmers are being reminded the deadline to apply for the AgriStability farm support program is April 30th.
Waren Ames, manager of program development at AgriStability, says the fee is 315 dollars for every 100-thousand dollars of a farm’s historical margin.
Ames says the program offers important risk protection against a downturn in farm income.
He says about 17-thousand Saskatchewan farmers are enrolled in the AgriStability program.
To receive a payout, a farmer has to see a 30-percent drop in farm income.
