The Regina Fire Department is reminding residents to be safe when it comes to their fire pits and barbecues this summer.
Careless cooking, including cooking with a barbecue is the leading cause of fire in Regina.
Fire Marshal Randy Ryba says people need to be careful with their fire pits as well.
“We have a number of regulations in the Regina fire bylaw governing the use of fire pits, how to build them, where to put them and the list goes on and on.”
Fire pits should stay 10 feet away from your deck, fence, house or trees.
