This morning when I rolled into the radio station I made my usual beeline to the break room to get some coffee brewed up. I used to just grab a cup from the machine, but now I actually have to grind some coffee beans and make the darn stuff. That means I don’t get my first cup until I’ve been here 15 minutes. It’s a pain in the a** if you ask me, and the coffee itself doesn’t even taste that good! Oh well, it keeps me going in the early morning hours and that’s all that matters, right?
After making the coffee I headed to my work station to start getting my stuff together for the show. I logged on to my computer and attempted to go to one of the many websites that I use every morning. Nothing came up on the screen. I tried another page, but got the same result. One more try, same old result. Other people were having the same problem. Great start to the day!
I decided I’d go into the control room and try that computer, which is on a different server. Ta-da! It worked!
So here I sit, in the main control room, getting all of my show prep put together.
The advantage is that it’s a lot quieter in here than it is in the back. The disadvantage? The coffee, which should be done by now, is a lot further away than it usually is. Oh well, a little exercise never hurt anyone.
