A legislative committee will be looking at ways to improve organ donations.
Duncan hopes that having a discussion about organ donation in the legislature will create dialogue with Saskatchewan residents.
“I think this now presents an opportunity to more fully engage with Saskatchewan residents about the need for people to sign their donor cards, put the sticker on their drivers license.”
In Saskatchewan last year, there were 11 deceased donors from a population of about one million, compared to the national average of 17 in 2014.
The Standing Committee on Human Services will provide its recommendations for the increases by the end of November.
