It was a trip of a lifetime.
That is what a Saskatoon father and son are saying after returning from St. Louis Wednesday where they were given the red-carpet treatment by the Blues for Game 2 of the NHL’s Western Conference final.
The Blues invited Gerry Nelson, who is blind, and Wyatt to Tuesday s game after watching a recent NBC story about how Wyatt does play-by-play for his dad at Saskatoon Blades games.
Gerry says he can’t thank the Blues enough for what they did in rolling out the red carpet for his family.
As for Wyatt, he says the chance to actually do play-by-play was an amazing experience as was a call from NHL on NBC broadcaster Mike Emrick who is considered one of the game’s top play-by-play announcers.
