The Heart and Stroke Foundation is warning businesses of someone claiming to represent them trying to collect funds.
The foundation received a call from a Regina business saying a man driving a van with an Ontario license plate attempted to solicit donations from the business.
According to the caller, the van sported several heart stickers and language indicating it belonged to some sort of heart charity.
The caller also reported the man stopped at additional businesses along Quance Street after he was turned away.
The Heart and Stroke Foundation is a volunteer-based health charity that fundraises door-to-door in February for Heart Month. Canvassers will also be going door-to-door from June 1-30, 2016 in Regina and Saskatoon to collect funds in support of Stroke Month. The Foundation is running an online fundraising campaign throughout June to coincide with this.
Legitimate Heart and Stroke Foundation canvassers all receive Heart & Stroke canvassing kits and will issue tax receipts
