Saying it is what his customers and staff have wanted, the manager of O’Hanlons says starting Tuesday, his establishment including the patio will be smoke-free.
Kurtis Tokarchuk says this is a move which should have been done a long time ago, and he thinks Regina will soon expand its smoke-free bylaw to include patios so why not just go ahead and do it.
Tokarchuk notes seven provinces and many cities no longer allow smoking in patios of restaurants and bars with Saskatoon being one of them, so it is time to follow the lead.
The Canadian Cancer Society is applauding the move by the downtown Regina pub saying it is a fantastic way to mark World No Tobacco Day.
It is hoped with this decision that other businesses will also decide to go smoke-free for the better of customers and staff.
