After news of a gas shortage at Petro-Canada locations in the Western parts of the country, the price of gas has gone up.
Friday afternoon the price jumped to over a dollar eleven per litre from just over a dollar earlier this morning.
As for the shortage, Suncor says the low supplies are because of the Fort McMurray wildfires and an unplanned shutdown at an Edmonton refinery.
The company is bringing in more gasoline and diesel by truck and rail from its own network, as well as from third parties.
A Suncor spokesperson says they aren’t sure when things will get back to normal.
