It is just a watch, and not a warning, but this hot, humid day could result in Regina seeing some severe thunderstorms before the day is over.
A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued across southeastern Saskatchewan including Regina, Weyburn, Estevan, Carlyle, Moosomin and Grenfell.
Hot and unstable air over southeastern saskatchewan combine with a weak low pressure system will provide for potential severe thunderstorms to develop this afternoon. Environment Canada says these storms could become severe quite quickly with golf ball sized hail and wind gusts in excess of 100 kilometers an hour.
As mentioned, this is just a watch and not a warning as conditions are favourable at this time for severe weather to strike.
