Southern Saskatchewan is under a severe thunderstorm watch from Environment Canada.
Environment Canada is saying that conditions are favourable for the development of very dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing destructive wind gusts, damaging hail and heavy rain.
These thunderstorms are expected to intensify later this afternoon as they move from Montana northeastward into southern Saskatchewan.
Environment Canada says damaging winds and large hail will be the main threats with these thunderstorms.
Environment Canada is also saying there is a slight risk of a tornadic activity near the Canada-USA border.
The thunderstorm activity is expected to move out of the region overnight.
