The Crown has said they will be seeking an adult sentence for the 16 year old girl accused of killing a 6 week old baby boy earlier this month.
The 16 year old, who had escaped from the Killburn Youth Hall Correctional Facility, was arrested and charged with second degree murder after police received the call about the infant’s injuries at 7 a.m. Sunday, July 10th.
He was found at a home in the 200 block of Waterloo Crescent in East College Park.
In addition to seeking an adult sentence, the Crown has requested a psychiatric and psychological evaluation. The judge has fulfilled that request.
The 16 year old had been sentenced to 10 months open custody in December for Break and Enter with Intent, Arson Damage to Property, Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Assault with a Weapon, and Robbery with a Weapon.
She was to receive 5 months of Community Supervision following the open custody sentence.She has been remanded in custody until her next court appearance August 24th.
