The Canadian Olympic Commission has released its contingent for the Rio Olympics, and there will be a good Saskatchewan flavour.
There will be eight people from Saskatchewan at the games—five athletes and three coaches.
The athletes are Humboldt’s Brianne Thiesen-Eaton (heptathlon), Weyburn’s Graham DeLaet (golf), Hanley’s Taryn Suttie (shot-put), Saskatoon’s Gavin Schmitt (volleyball), and Saskatoon’s Jillian Gallays (freestyle wrestling).
The coaches are Lisa Thomaidis of Saskatoon (womens basketball), Carla Nicholls of Regina (athletics), and Lisa Borgerson of Rockglen (shooting).
The Rio Olympics begin August 5
