Federated Co-ops Limited is investing 75 million dollars to construct two new high throughput fertilizer terminals.
A 45 thousand ton terminal will be built at Hanley and a 27 thousand 500 ton facility will be constructed at Brandon, Manitoba.
Scott Banda, CEO of FCL, says the fertilizer terminals will be fully operational in early 2017 and will store, blend and distribute a full line of crop nutrition products throughout the Co-op retailling system.
Currently, 64 of the 120 Co-op Agro Centres in Western Canada sell fertilizer.
Many more are expected to add fertilizer to their farm offering once the new terminals are built.
