This is the second time this summer the city has had to bring in the use of the Provincial Disaster Assistance Program for homeowners with flood damage.
Duane McKay, Commissioner of Emergency Management and Fire Safety says besides the use of PDAP, the affected communities are handling the situation well.
“There’s been no requests for provincial assistance, no requests for emergency social services. Everybody is working hard to restore, and look after family and friends that were impacted by this.”
Homes were damaged or ruined in the RMs of Cana and Orkney after two tornadoes touched down north of Melville, SK.
Both RM’s are also expected to send in requests to be designated as disaster assistance areas.
