Premier Brad Wall has appointed Jim Reiter to Serve as Minister responsible for the Crown Investments Corporation (CIC), Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI), the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SGLA) and the Public Service Commission (PSC).
Reiter will remain in this role on an interim basis until the cabinet shuffle takes place later in August.
He takes on the new responsibilities while remaining the Minister of Government Relations, Minister responsible for First Nations, Metis and Northern Affairs, and Minister responsible for SaskEnergy and SaskTel.
“Jim Reiter has been a strong and capable minister for our government in all of the portfolios he has held and I know he will do a good job of handing these additional duties,” Wall said.
Wall says he will not be naming a new Deputy Premier for the time being. That position will also be announced in the upcoming cabinet shuffle.
Don McMorris stepped down from his role as Minister this weekend after being charged with impaired driving.
