The Queen City Ex has come and gone for another year. To me, that’s the event that signals the end of summer. Officially, of course, the summer ends with the autumnal equinox, or the first day of fall, which arrives at 8:21 on the morning of Sept. 22! That’s kind of a downer isn’t it? How many sleeps?
I had a blast at the fair with Kelcey and Courtney, as I always do. We spent the better part of five hours hitting the rides and the games and enjoying the sights and sounds that come with it. Surprisingly, we didn’t eat much this year. We all had a regular corndog and a box of fries with a drink, and that was about it. Usually there are new food items that I like to try out, but this year there didn’t seem to be anything “special.” Last year it was the lobster corndog.
This year the pickle corndog was one of the new food items. That really didn’t seem to out of the ordinary, especially to those who like to eat a pickle with their corndog. It didn’t take much imagination to come up with that. I’m not much of a “sweets” guy, so the chicken waffle on a stick was definitely out of the question.
Besides, we were so full after our corndogs and fries that we didn’t eat another thing while we were there.
Very, very unusual.
