It may seem trivial to ask, but do tell; what is your favorite thing to do in summer!
As I face a few days off, I’m getting itchy feet to do something that will satisfy the adventurer in my soul.
When I have days off, sitting and trying to achieve perfection (LOL) at home – is NOT going to happen. This would mean, yes, you know it THROWING everything out.
Instead I prefer to turn my back on it and get out of “dodge”. Anywhere but home! Because someone will come up with another distraction and then its just discouraging.
Now, there are some hurdles here – the Tragically Hip Farewell Concert from Kingston, ONT will be on Saturday night. The Olympics wrap up this weekend too. So, where and how can I do all things.
Last night I was checking out Cypress Hills and the events that are going on there. Dinner at Historic Reesor Ranch this Sunday, Farmers’ Market, shopping and even zip-lining.
The Grasslands National Park and the Cypress Interprovincial Park offer some great vistas and open air opportunities to absorb what Saskatchewan has to offer in the South Western corner of the province.
There is also Saskatchewan Landing and up along the Saskatchewan/Alberta border. I guess the biggest thing is; are you going for a massive drive or are you breaking the days up with an overnight stay – SOMEWHERE. And what do your accommodations look like. I have a tent and sleeping bag, however its been a few years since they were used in unison!
So many provincial parks and not a travel trailer in sight to make the “eventing” easy!
I continue to mull over what I will do. Later this fall I have travel plans to Calgary for a wedding and I am still planning on Toronto for Grey Cup. It really is all about pacing, not spending too much money and having a good time in the process.
Time to get the map back on and make a few decisions. If our Canadian Dollar would only smarten up, I could go to the U.S. for a little drive in Montana. There’s an idea!!
