Yesterday afternoon I was on a mission to complete a “honey-do” list that my wife left for me. It wasn’t much of a list. As a matter of fact, there was only one item on that list…trim the tree branches from around the roof of the house. We have some big trees in both the front and back yards and some branch trimming has got to be done from time to time. I actually don’t mind it. It looks better and it gives us some ammunition for our fire pit.
I could have gone up on the roof and tackled the problem from there, but there really weren’t a lot of branches to trim, so I opted for the ladder and a saw. That honey-do list was tackled in less than an hour.
As I surveyed the yard I decided I might as well pull the lawn mower form the shed and tidy up the lawn while I was in the mood. While I was cutting the lawn out front I decided to side-step it over to the neighbours house and give them a free lawn manicure while I was at it. They’re looking after our dog for a night or two this weekend, so it’s the least I could have done. I feel a little less guilty about dumping Max on them if I’ve done something nice for them and I figured cutting the lawn would be a nice and neighbourly thing to do.
Branches are trimmed, the lawn is mowed, and we have a dog sitter for a couple of nights.
That’s a pretty good way to kick off a long weekend!
