Another season of Regina Pats hockey begins Friday at the Brandt Centre.
The Pats will entertain the Prince Albert Raiders in a 7 o’clock start, but fans are invited to take in a pre-game barbecue which will be held inside the Brandt Centre.
Team spokesperson Mark Rathwell says fans attending the barbecue can also check out a special military display as the team will once again honour its relationship with the military during the 2016-17 season.
Rathwell says if you can’t get to the barbecue, you will want to be in your seat before the puck drop as some special pre-game ceremonies will take place.
With the Pats being talked about as a WHL championship contender, Rathwell feels many will be coming to the Brandt Centre this winter to check the Pats out causing a tremendous amount of excitement within the club.
The city has also declared Friday as Regina Pats day as the team’s flag will fly at City Hall.
