One Saskatoon man is in custody and another is on life support after an attack in Winkler, Manitoba.
Police in the city were called to the Valley Bowling Lanes just before midnight on Saturday.
Police Chief Rick Hiebert says the two men, who were known to each other, had got into an argument about unpaid debt, when it suddenly became violent.
Hiebert says a 25 year old man from Saskatoon was struck several times with a pool cue and was reported to be unconscious. The first officer who responded immediately began CPR.
A witness called provincial 911 and followed the suspect to a convenience store. Police were able to arrest the man within minutes of the attack without incident.
29 year old Justin Bird, also from Saskatoon, has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a controlled substance.
