Last week I attended a dinner at Regina’s Intercultural Dialogue Institute on Victoria Avenue, Regina. The company and the food were great! A definite learning experience of the culture and the turmoil that is unfolding in Turkey. If, in the future, you are able to attend any of the Institute’s events, you should attend.
I am signed up for cooking lessons in the near future!
Saturday was a perfect fall day; the sun finally returned. There were so many activities to take in and with the weather co-operating it was worthy of walking or doing some form of physical activity outside. It made me think of boot camps! Once you start moving, it doesn’t take long to be warmed up on a chilly day! I thought about flopping down in this large open field to do some sit ups / push-ups or stretches, but then thought differently as I was around a senior’s complex. I didn’t want an innocent bi-stander to think I was having a medical emergency!
With a bit of physical activity under my belt the trip to Broadway United Church for their fall supper (or is that fowl?) was a treat! TURKEY. Dressing and all the fabulous desserts!
Our allotted seating time was 4:15 pm on Saturday. Who booked that time? Missing the final quarter of the Roughriders and last innings of the Jays! Oh well, there are always hi-lites! (The Riders, anyway!)
A loud hand-clap for the Break Out West organizers! I was able to be apart of the award ceremonies that took place at various venues around Regina. The big show may have been Thursday night, but by being at the venues you were able to hear some great Western Canadian talent and see award ceremonies. Congratulations to Frazey Ford and the Northern Beauties for winning in their Roots Solo and Duo/Group award categories. It was an honour to hand out these two awards at the Exchange & the Club.
So, when people ask about my weekends, I hope they are ready for the long version! “Reader’s Digest”, is a term I should use more often.
Today, we start the week off with an Optimist meeting, 620 CKRM Saskatchewan Roughrider Pep Band steak night, Royal Canadian Legion meeting and then there is the 620 CKRM 90th birthday party! Wow, she’s a busy one again.
Hope you’re well rested!
